The Toronto District School Board runs English public schools in the City of Toronto. It is not the Catholic board, and it is not a provincial snow-day desk. A closure, when there is one, is posted by the TDSB. This page only estimates the weather and points you at the official sites.

For students who ride a yellow bus, the board's transportation pages direct families to the Toronto Student Transportation Group, a joint initiative with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Many secondary students use the TTC instead. Those are different systems, and a school-bus cancellation is not a TTC shutdown.

Toronto Student Transportation Group

TSTG describes itself as an initiative of the Toronto Catholic District School Board and the Toronto District School Board. Its site is the place the TDSB names for route information and delay notices. We do not republish TSTG's fleet statistics, because those figures change and they are not ours.

Questions parents ask

What time does the TDSB announce a snow day?

The board does not promise a single clock time on this page, and we will not invent one. Check the TDSB site in the early morning. Practices change, and the only reliable copy is theirs.

If the bus is cancelled, is the school closed?

Not necessarily. Read the board announcement and the TSTG notice as two items. Families who drive or walk still need the school's own status.
