School is probably on
Pack your bag. This forecast does not suggest a closure.
Buses: 4% chance of a cancellation or delay. Higher confidence.
Biggest factor: nothing strong in the overnight window.
What should I do? Pack the school bag. Still check your board in the morning in case the buses are cancelled.
Advanced: adjust the forecast
Weather data: Open-Meteo. Postal codes use GeoNames forward-sortation centroids (CC BY 4.0); an unknown area falls back to OpenStreetMap Nominatim. This is an estimate, not a school-board announcement. Estimate only. Check your board.

The Halton District School Board serves public schools in Halton Region: Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills. None of those municipalities has a city page in the first set, so this board page loads a Burlington forecast and lets you search the others. The suburban setting is the preload.
We do not invent a snowfall threshold for Halton. The lake is close, ice is common, and the escarpment towns are not the same drive as south Burlington. Change the place in the search box rather than assuming one number covers the region.
Transportation
Halton Student Transportation Services
Halton Student Transportation Services publishes three inclement-weather zones on its site: Burlington and Oakville; Milton; and Halton Hills, Georgetown, and Acton. The site says those zones are used as boundaries for service cancellations and closures. Read the zone you are in, not only a regional headline. HSTS also links the Halton Catholic board.
None of the current city pages are tagged to this board. Search a community from the tool above.
Confirm the morning decision on the board's site. This page is not an announcement, and it is not affiliated with the board.

Questions parents ask
Why is there no Oakville page?
The first city list did not include the Halton municipalities. This board page is the hub, and the search box accepts Oakville, Milton, or a postal code. A later city page would be one new entry.
Do all three Halton zones close together?
Not necessarily. HSTS describes them as distinct zones. Check the zone map on their site on the morning of a storm.
