The CBE page Transportation Safety in Adverse Weather says Calgary's large school boards, through the Safe Student Travel Advisory Group, cancel school bus transportation at −35°C ambient temperature or a −40 wind chill, measured by Environment Canada. It says alerts may be sent the evening before, a final decision is made by 5:15 a.m., and families are told by 6 a.m. the day of service.
That same page says CBE schools are open even if transportation is cancelled, unless the board communicates otherwise. Calgary Transit announces its own cancellations and delays. This page is not a live bus notice and it is not the Calgary Catholic board.
